Chapter 5: ¡DesPieRtA, BaBy!

The only thing that I can say is that when we treat others as things, we should put on their shoes and think just for a second if we would like to be treated like that; what they would feel in that situation. We shouldn’t behave towards others in the way we know we wouldn’t like to be treated: the Golden Rule.

Why should we care about others,Laura? How they feel is, after all, their problem, isn't it?

As Nietzche himself put it: "the superior man has no duty but to himself", you know...

... Have you ever met anyone who expressed such views? What do you think you might say in such case?

Looking forward to your replies to that!

Yes, it`s true that it is their problem, but it`s also true that we should care about others because we live with them, and in some way their life or the way they feel or live have some influence over us.
There are some people who usually think like that. Although they are free to think in that way, I feel that they have in a way a selfish feeling. We are human beings that live in society, we need others to be humans, don`t we?

I definitely agree with you that we need others to live a better life ourselves, Laura!
